PA is Ready! Informational Webinar on Community Resistance Zones

Registration is closed for this event

Since Inauguration Day, immigrant communities have experienced increased threats from ICE. This year, PA is Ready! is excited to move in a new direction that will allow us to respond to these increased threats. Our new Enforcement Resistance Capacity Building Initiative strives to increase the capacity of community-based organizations to build Community Resistance Zones and conduct strategic case-based campaigns.

Juntos is a community-led, Latinx immigrant organization in South Philadelphia that successfully implemented a Community Resistance Zone in its community. During the webinar, Erika Almiron, Executive Director of Juntos, will:

  • Explain the Community Resistance Zones model
  • Discuss lessons learned and best practices from Juntos
  • Discuss the types of training and support Juntos provide its volunteers
  • Clearly explain what capacity is necessary to implement a Community Resistance Zone. This will allow organizations to reflect on what capacity they need and how to use the grant money to build it

This webinar will be conducted via Zoom, a video conferencing platform. You will receive the information necessary to join the webinar following registration.
