PICC Member Welcoming Schools Training

Registration is closed for this event

PICC will provide two online Welcoming Schools Campaign trainings for organizations, and community members.

Welcoming School Toolkit provides access to important information for immigrant and refugee families regarding their rights in school. Our Welcoming Schools Campaign Toolkit answers questions about the fear of ICE in schools due to immigration status and how school districts can support families through Welcoming School Policies.

Our Welcoming Schools Questionnaire & Welcoming Schools Report, allows immigrant and refugee communities to share their unique experiences with the education system in PA, highlighting their needs and recommendations to make schools welcoming to all students. This report is used by community members and organizations to advocate for education changes across Pennsylvania.

Our training session provided for partner organizations will be held via Zoom on November 19th at 2pm. During this training you will learn about PICC's Welcoming Schools efforts, session information and how to distribute the Welcoming Schools Questionnaire among your community. You will also be able to invite your community members to our Community Welcoming Schools Session on November 25, 2019

Online community member session will be held on November 25th at 7pm.  This session will be aimed at providing community members with Welcoming Schools training, as well as a voluntary electronic questionnaire to highlight their family's, or own experience within PA’s educational system as an immigrant/refugee.
