New American voters are a growing political voice in PA. Over 125,000 people have naturalized in Pennsylvania since 2014, according to a report recently released by the PICC and National Partnership for New Americans (NPNA). Since 2008, PICC has led a non-partisan volunteer program to register these new citizens to vote at their naturalization ceremonies in Philadelphia. In this critical election, we believe it is more important than ever that these new American voters are heard at the polls - and we need your help! PICC will be hosting virtual phone and text banking through November 3rd to educate new citizens about Pennsylvania’s new vote by mail option and give needed information about voting on Election Day. All of our phone and text banks are non-partisan, our goal is to give all new American voters the information they need to vote. Phone & text banks will be done virtually from the comfort of your home. No previous phone banking experience is necessary! We will train all volunteers before the first phone or text bank. You will need a laptop, tablet, or computer and internet access to use the virtual tools. Sign Up Today! Text new citizens to remind them to return their mail-in ballot. October 24-25 from 12:30-3:30pm. Sign up today! Call & text new citizens to give them information on voting for Election Day. October 26 - November 2. Sign up today! |
