A huge shout out to our AMAZING volunteers! This year, volunteers made over 38,000 calls and sent over 21,000 texts to New American voters in Pennsylvania. From the volunteers who have shown up to naturalization ceremonies for many years to register new citizens to our first-time volunteers, we are incredibly thankful for their support. We would also like to thank Woori Center, New American Votes and Voter Empowerment Project for helping on Election day in making over 48,000 calls.
We think our phone banks are the best, and our volunteers agree! "I've been phone banking all over the country, including in Michigan, Arizona, and North Carolina. My experience phone banking with PICC was wonderful! A high percentage of the people I called answered and answered positively. Everyone I spoke with had already voted or planned to vote. It was a great experience overall!" - Theodora "I appreciate so much that PICC works to register new citizens and work with them to ensure that they can vote. A couple of years ago, I brought my daughters to a naturalization ceremony to help PICC register voters. I wanted them to see the meaning of becoming a new citizen. While registering voters was out of our comfort zone, we talked about why we came to do that work. Today, I wanted to show them that this is a continuation of the importance of that work and that we all must do our part to protect the right to vote for all citizens." -Dorilona
