Featured Member: Haitian American Voice

Haitian American Voice educates and engages black immigrant communities to organize and advocate for racial, social and economic justice. We also organize Black immigrants in electoral politics through and skill-building and leadership development. HAV is an active member of the Shut Down Berks Coalition to close the only family detention center in PA and bring attention to the disproportionate deportation and detention of Black immigrants. We also provide education on the struggle for Haitian liberation at local churches and community events. Follow on Facebook
Relay Across America: PA Week of Action April 19-23

For decades, the immigrant rights movement has been fighting for permanent protections and citizenship for the 11 million undocumented immigrants living in our country. Immigrants and refugees have been keeping this country afloat way before the pandemic, and will continue to push us through after the economic and health crises. It’s past time we provide them with the permanent protections they deserve. The Relay Across America will bring together immigrants and allies to demand the administration and Congress deliver on promises made and provide the 11 million a roadmap to citizenship and bold COVID-19 recovery.

From April 19-23, immigrant serving organizations and immigrant leaders across Pennsylvania will be lifting up a collective message that Congress must provide a pathway to citizenship for all, end deportations, and include all families in COVID relief. Help Pass Driver's Licenses for All!

We are proud to be members of the Driving PA Forward coalition along with dozens of other advocacy, agricultural, business, community, faith-based, & labor organizations.

Driver's licenses for all PA residents would mean economic security and protection from detention & deportation for thousands of immigrants who are currently legally denied the human right to mobility in PA. This legislation will also make for safer roads, lower-cost insurance, and data privacy for all PA drivers. With 40 co-sponsors already secured in the PA House, Driving PA Forward is currently engaged in 40 days of action to pressure legislators to pass House bill 279.

2021 PA is Ready! Grant Application is Open

PA is Ready! provides grants to collaborative work that is rooted in and serving diverse immigrant and refugee communities to make legal and other immigration services accessible; build power, organizational capacity, and the leadership of immigrant community members; and address community-identified needs and root causes in the long term. All work must be based in Pennsylvania and intend to serve residents of Pennsylvania. Please share far and wide to organizations that may be interested in applying.

We encourage everyone to apply! Application are due on May 14th, 2021. 

If you have questions about whether or not your proposal fits within the grant guidelines, PICC will be hosting an informational webinar on May 3rd, 4:00-5:00PM to present the framework, grantmaking criteria, application expectations, and answer questions about the grantmaking process.

Any organizations that are applying for PA is Ready! fund for the first time are required to attend the webinar as well as a schedule a 15-consultation to determine the fit of the proposal.
